Spending time outdoors offers a number of physical and psychological benefits to children and adults. Milton Reimers Ranch Park in Dripping Springs is a short drive from Bee Cave, and is a beautiful place to discover new activities or enjoy your favorite outdoor hobby.

Activities and amenities at the Milton Reimers Ranch Park include hiking, horseback riding, fishing, mountain biking, rock climbing, and swimming. You can also join guided tours of the park or a monthly guided bird walk to learn more about our local feathered friends.

Another fantastic attraction at this park is the Reimers Observatory, complete with telescope classes for those who are interested. This will give you a unique perspective of the night sky around us.

Explore underground caves at Longhorn Cavern State Park.

Another location for an incredible outdoor experience is the Longhorn Cavern State Park. Rather than exploring above ground, you’ll go underground to see the beauty of the historic Longhorn Cavern.

There are two guided tour options for the Longhorn Cavern. One is a guided walking tour through 1.1 miles of passages, while the other is a wild cave tour which involves primitive caving experience. We recommend the guided walking tour for everyone, but more adventurous individuals will love to climb and crawl through the cavern on the wild cave tour.

Walking tours are held 364 days a year and do require you to purchase a ticket unless you’re booking a private group. The wild cave tour is generally held on Saturdays, though this is subject to change depending on a number of factors.

Gather your family for Movies in the Park at Lakeway City Park.

If you’re looking for a casual, cozy, and kid-friendly event to gather with your family, Movies in the Park at the Lakeway City Park is a great idea.

Hosted during the summer of 2020, Movies in the Park will feature a family-friendly movie, free popcorn, and a concession stand. Movies are scheduled to start right at dusk, around 8:45 p.m., on Friday nights in June, July, and August. You can either hunker down with blankets in the middle of the lawn or post up in your favorite camping chair on the side.

Try a new water sport or take a tour at Live Love Paddle.

Lounging on a beach and going for a swim is always fun, but what about trying your hand at a new water sport activity, like paddleboarding?

Live Love Paddle is located at Austin’s Lady Bird Lake, about 45 to 55 minutes from Bee Cave and Lakeway. Live Love Paddle is a “one-stop-shop” for watercraft rentals, as well as guided tours. Not only do they offer paddleboarding, but they also have different sizes of kayaks, canoes, and NuCanoes for rent.

As if that wasn’t fun enough already, Live Love Paddle also has daytime and full moon nighttime tours. For a truly memorable experience, consider their world-famous bat watching tour from a kayak or watch the fireworks on Independence day.

Experience pure exhilaration at Lake Travis Zipline Adventures.

Combine beautiful sights with a bit of heart-racing action, and you’ve got yourself an amazing time for thrill-seekers. Lake Travis Zipline Adventures is about a 40-minute drive from Bee Cave, and is a must for anyone that loves to try something new and exciting.

There are five ziplines total at Lake Travis, including some of the longest and fastest in Texas; in fact, the zipline tours take about three hours to complete! You’ll get a bird’s eye view of the canyons and Lake Travis itself. If you want to really try something different, book a night flight tour.

In addition to the ziplines, the ticket price includes all of the equipment you need, transportation via boat, water, and snacks. After you’ve completed your zipline tour, you can also enjoy the private lakefront property, where you might have a picnic, relax in a hammock, or go for a swim.

If you haven’t been to the High 5 Family Entertainment Center, we highly recommend you make a night of it with your family and friends!

The High 5 Family Entertainment Center in Lakeway is a huge two-story, 47,000 sq. ft. paradise for the young and the young at heart. You’ll find something for everyone here, including bowling, laser tag, VR gaming, arcades, and even axe throwing. You can also refuel and grab a bite to eat in the dining area or, for adults only, unwind at one of the two full bars.
